“Fake Crowds” - 2024

This project looks at the characteristics of crowds, with a focus on sound. After several different approaches to understanding the movement of crowds and the different layers within them, a music album was created. It is a collection of sounds recorded in crowded places in London, with each track being the calming result of a lengthy digital reverberation process. Through every location's different features, certain frequencies of the recording are emphasized while others are attenuated. This process draws inspiration from Alvin Lucier's' “I am sitting in a room”, an experimental sound art piece
